Initiated in 2011 by the Internet of Things Council and later joined by Postscapes, the event is designed as an open invitation to both the maker and business focused communities anywhere around the world to meet, and share their vision for what an Internet of Things enabled planet should look like.
This year there are over 20 events scheduled with a free streaming event at IoTLive.org, an all-day conference in Rotterdam, and Meetups taking place in London, Moscow, and more than a dozen other locations around the world.
Zatar a cloud-based IoT platform helping companies eliminate the complexity of managing their devices is helping to sponsor the event this year. As part of this sponsorship IoT Day will now host IoT Launch, a contest where more than a $1000 in cash and prizes are awarded to forward thinking IoT communities and innovators.
More details about the day including a full calendar of events can be found at IoTDay.org.
