The UK’s Technology Strategy Board has just released the list of 10 winners for their convergence competition.
The Ten British companies will receive up to £50,000 each for preparatory studies to “better understand how to move towards an application and services marketplace in the ‘Internet of Things’.”
The ten finalist include:

- British Telecommunications plc
- Cambridge Wireless Ltd
- Focus Innovation Ltd
- Globosense Ltd
- Housing 21
- In Touch Ltd
- InteliTap Ltd
- Swirrl IT Ltd
- WattBox Ltd
Following the completion of the preparatory studies, TSB will invest up to £4 million later in 2012 in a funding competition that will lead to the development of a convergence demonstrator. The first stage of the project will run from 1 March through to the end of May, with a showcase event of the projects in June.
