Jasper secures $50 million in growth financing round
Jasper, which provides services to enable the Internet of Things for large industries, announced this week that it has raised $50 million of new capital, bringing the company’s total valuation to more than $1 billion.
Founded in 2004 Jasper has centered its focus on large-scale platform deployments that can connect entire industries. Automakers like Ford and Nissan are using Jasper’s technology to deliver traffic, weather, and other content to cars; the airline industry uses it to manage maintenance across entire fleets of aircraft; and their operator partner network includes 19 mobile operator groups and over 100 network affiliates worldwide.
“After nearly a decade partnering with enterprises and operators, we know one thing with absolute certainty: the Internet of Things is not about things, it is about service,” said Jasper founder and CEO Jahangir Mohammed in a statement. “We are seeing explosive growth in the number of Internet-connected devices, with many more billions anticipated by the end of the decade.”
The new round is led by Singapore based Temasek, and will be used by the company to "accelerate innovation of its platform to further increase business value for enterprises and operators."
