ZYMKEY: Raspi Security Hardware
Dec 09 2016
ZymKey is a tiny, low-cost piece of hardware for authenticating and encrypting data between Internet of Things devices. Developed by Santa Barbara based startup Zymbit the device is available as a USB device or Raspi header compatible version.
Zymkey offloads the complexity of client device authentication, data integrity and confidentiality using factors that include a 'hardware fingerprint' and unique security token.
The device monitors the physical environment symptoms of physical tampering using an accelerometer to detect shocks and a power rail monitor for anomalies or brownout events.
ZYMKEY generates and stores key pairs in tamper resistant silicon and supports cipher suits used by Amazon AWS-IoT and Microsoft Azure.
